Technology is becoming more and more the rage with kids these days and they seem to want to spend less and less time outside. I remember when I was a kid growing up in a country town called Sarsfield about 10km’s outside of Bairsnsdale that there wasn’t a lot to do, so we had to use our imagination to keep us entertained. Building ant farms, inventing games, swimming, bike rides, bush walks… all these things were once considered fun! Well nowadays it is a little harder as these classic activities have to compete with high end graphics, sound effects and limitless easily downloadable new material… how daunting?
Well I was having a search around and I found a great list of outdoor activities over on Kidspot, certainly worth checking out! There seem to be most of the classics here from backyard cricket to what’s the time Mr Wolf, but there are also a heap of others that are worth checking out, I am sure with a little research you’ll find something new and exciting to get the kids off those fandangle new wizbang gadgets they spend far too long staring at!
